ETHICAL RECRUITMENT

Aqueous Crewing does not use any means, mechanisms, or lists intended to prevent or deter qualified seafarers from gaining employment. We are committed to fair, transparent, and merit-based recruitment practices, in full compliance with MLC Regulations. Every candidate is assessed solely on their experience, qualifications, and suitability for the role, and we strongly oppose any form of discrimination, blacklisting, or unfair exclusion from employment opportunities.

SEAFARER FEES

We do not charge seafarers any costs for our services, the only charges they may incur are their medical certificates, seafarer's discharge book and passports or similar travel documents. If visas need to be purchased, the client shall reimburse the candidate.

SEAFARER EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENTS

Each candidate is advised to carefully read their contracts prior to starting their new placement. If you are unsure with any section of your contract, please contact Aqueous Crewing and we can have a consultant go through it with you. Additionally, here is a template of what the model format for a seafarers employment agreement should look like as suggested in section 5.3 of the MGN 477. All seafarers will receive a signed copy of their SEA's for their personal record.

VERIFIED EMPLOYMENT

All crew that are placed through the agency will be assigned to MLC compliant vessels, their SEA's will be in line with MLC requirements. Please see here for the minimum requirements for an SEA.

SYSTEM OF PROTECTION

Our insurance policy covers our placed seafarers against financial loss if it was to occur, for example repatriation or unpaid wages. This protection ensures that seafarers are covered for any liabilities or any arrears that happen within 2 months of the placement starting and allows for liabilities to continue accruing for an additional 2 month period from the date they arise.

COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

We take all complaints seriously resolving issues fairly, promptly and confidentially. Please see here for our complaints procedure.
